Tar Moth

Freelance illustrator, comic creator and creative writer. Storyboarder apprentice.

Mexican 22 years old artist, passionate of the visual arts and their combination with literature.
I make illustrations of original characters from my stories, in a combined style of anime and occidental cartoon.
What I seek to portray are the problematics that envelop our world. In my visuals, I express my ideas and emotions, while in my stories I want to raise the voice of the minorities that go unperceived, and spread the difficulties that people like me face every day, surrounded with violent societies and inequality. The main object of my general works is to spread awareness about mental health and diversity, encourage empathy and respect.
To apply color and shadows in my traditional artworks I use Pentel watercolors, Prismacolor pencil colors, a variety of acrilyc paints and alcohol markers of various brands. As for my line arts, I use Sakura Micron stylographic pens, and gel ballpoint pens to ink.
For digital artworks I use Clip Studio Paint Pro on my computer, and a Wacom tablet.
I took part in four local competitions in which I obtained an honorific mention, won the third place twice, and won a second place once.
Currently starting the development of my first webcomic.
